“The Healing Power of Canine Companionship: How Dogs Provide Comfort to Chimpanzees Coping with Loss”

When Princess met Jenny and Jimmy Desmond, her life took a turn for the better. She was almost sacrificed, but fate brought her to humans who had a deep love for animals. Princess quickly learned that her new owners were kind and caring, especially when their dog comforted a group of chimps who had lost their family in a natural way. Princess believes everyone deserves a second chance at life, and she is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of her primate friends. Princess was saved from a sanctuary when she was only one year old.

The Desmonds made a decision to go on a journey to visit 10 different countries in order to help a multitude of animals, which showcased their love and care for these unique creatures.

The Desmonds were infuriated when the New York City Blood Center left several chimpanzees behind. To prevent them from dying, they teamed up with local rescue groups and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to take care of them. Without their intervention, the chimps might not have survived.

The Desmond family, along with their princesses, made a trip to Liberia to carry on their mission of supporting neglected primates. Their objective was to provide a safe haven and help rehabilitate wildlife that had fallen victim to illegal hunting practices.

Jenny reported that Princess was deeply committed to providing a safe haven for chimps, dedicating both her body and soul to their welfare. The ultimate goal is to establish a chimp shelter in Liberia, with support from the HSUS and the Liberian Forest Development Authority. Despite having a waiting list of more chimps in need, the focus remains on providing a future for these rescued animals with their own kind. The Desmonds are eagerly working towards this dream, yet acknowledge the need for resources to make it a reality.
