This log cabin is a spacious and luxurious retreat, with over 2,000 square feet of rustic furnishings and an 800 square foot outdoor deck perfect for dining and relaxing by the fireplace. You can enjoy a game of pool on the 9-foot pool table too. Located just a short 10-minute drive away from Sylva and Dillsboro, where you can find famous shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, this cabin is also only 25 minutes away from Cherokee Casino and an hour away from Asheville or Gatlinburg’s attractions. The cabin was named 1789 to commemorate the year North Carolina became a state, and it boasts a rustic, historic feel with chinking log home construction while offering modern amenities to make you feel right at home.

The North Carolina side of the Great Smoky Mountains offers a scenic and less touristy vacation experience, perfect for families and friends to escape for some fresh mountain air, stunning mountain views, and a chance to relax and recharge. One of the best things about this cabin is that you get all of that natural beauty while being just 9 minutes away from some one-of-a-kind fantastic restaurants and shopping. The cabin has 2 (possibly 3) parking spots in front of it, and the drive up to the cabin includes a 3-minute drive on a gravel road. While the drive isn’t difficult, the owners recommend using AWD or 4WD for comfort and safety.

During your stay in Sylva, you can explore the town’s Jackson County Ale Trail, which has been named one of the Top 10 American Brewery Tours. Sylva’s booming brewing scene is where it all starts, and you can experience more than 100 beers on tap along Sylva’s Historic Main Street or pick up the official field guide for the trail’s recommended top 10 local brews. Most of these breweries host live music and special events.

Surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains, there are plenty of water-based outdoor adventures awaiting steps away from town.
