Shakira made a successful comeback to the World Cup stage at the closing ceremony, following her memorable performance at the opening ceremony. The Colombian songstress, accompanied by Brazilian artist Carlinhos Brown, put on an energetic show with her popular song “La La La (Brazil 2014)” at the Maracana Stadium during the final showdown between Germany and Argentina. Rocking a dazzling red sequined ensemble paired with a feathery tasseled skirt, Shakira captivated the audience before bringing her son Milan on stage, making the moment even more special and unforgettable.
The number one spot in the stadium was taken by Shakira as she proudly brought her son Milan out on stage for the grand finale of the World Cup final’s closing ceremony.
What an amazing group of performers: Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, Shakira and her son, Alexandre Pires, Ivete Sangalo, and Carlinhos Brown rocked the stage on Sunday before the Germany v Argentina match.
Shakira beamed with happiness as she watched her son come on stage after her performance at the Final. Her adorable little boy was dressed in a charming green and white striped top, and he was all smiles as he joined his mom following a quick trip to see his dad, Spanish defender Gerard Pique. The 37-year-old singer and Pique first met while she was promoting her 2010 World Cup hit, Waka Waka – Time for Africa. Looking forward to the closing ceremony concert on Sunday, Shakira expressed her appreciation by saying, “I will always remember the special moment of meeting the love of my life at the World Cup.”
Milan, a lucky young boy, will come to fully understand and cherish the unique opportunity of stepping onto the World Cup stage as he gets older.
Wyclef and Ivete are absolutely taken with the little boy, they just can’t seem to get their fill of spending time with him.
Feeling a bit tired? Milan seemed a little worn out despite the lively atmosphere surrounding him as his mother gently held him in her arms.
Talking about her history with soccer, she shared, “I have a complicated relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I really understand the importance of the World Cup for so many people, including myself.”
For the big finale, Shakira brought in Zumba founder Beto to help her out, and they practiced together at Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro to choreograph her performance.
The Colombian duo first worked together in Bogotá in the mid-1990s on Shakira’s breakthrough album Pies Descalzos.
Shakira made her way through the throng of photographers to reunite with her son, who was waiting with Pique.
During the carnival, the performers wore bright and intricate outfits as they showed off their dance moves.
Beto, the creative force behind Zumba, was bursting with enthusiasm as he shared about his latest collaboration with Shakira to develop dynamic dance routines. From Zumba’s base in Miami, Beto couldn’t contain his excitement as he reflected on the incredible opportunity to work alongside the legendary singer. Grateful and elated, he described the experience as a dream come true to partner with such a remarkable and influential artist on this project.
Next to her, Shakira was flanked by two assistants who directed her towards her beau, Pique, after the show.
The attire matched the lively vibe of the Carnival in Brazil flawlessly. Among the spectators enjoying the main event were David Beckham and his children Brooklyn and Romeo, all rocking Argentina jerseys. They were seated next to Brazilian icons Kaka and Pele, with David kindly taking pictures with enthusiastic fans before the match got underway. The star-studded lineup of performers included Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, Alexandre Pires, Ivete Sangalo, and Carlinhos Brown adding to the excitement of the event.
Top acts: Wyclef and Pires each delivered separate show-stopping performances to captivate the crowd on Sunday.
Thrilling: Ivete Sangalo wows in a stunning emerald gown adorned with intricate details, complemented by chic platform shoes.
