Rescued from the Brink of Euthanasia: Meet the ‘Unicorn Dog’ Who Found a Loving Home with a New Family

A caring family has given a new home to a dog known as the “Unicorn Dog,” who had experienced an extremely difficult life and was facing certain death. Over time, this dog has blossomed into an absolutely gorgeous pup.

Strawberry, a pit bull nicknamed “unicorn dog” due to his unique appearance, had a rough start in life. He spent time in several shelters before finally finding a loving home in South Pasadena. Sadly, he also suffered a head injury that nearly took his life. Luckily, the La Belle Foundation in Los Angeles rescued him and nursed him back to health. Despite the pain he endured, Strawberry is now thriving in his forever home.

According to a post on social media by the rescue group, this dog has been through a lot. Her head is swollen with two large lumps, and her eyes are gooey. There are also dreadful scratches on her face. The shelter wrongly believed that the bulge on her head was a tumor and had planned to put her down. However, after conducting a thorough examination, it was discovered that it was just harmless scar tissue from a previous injury. The Kuhlman family from South Pasadena stumbled upon Strawberry while browsing for an adoptable dog online. She was in good health at the time, and they fell in love with her immediately.

Kristen Kuhlman, the head of the household, expressed that there was something about Strawberry that resonated with her. However, it took some time for her to find a suitable place to live. After much discussion and contemplation, it is still possible to reach out to her online.

Since the family had recently lost their fifteen-year-old dog, they decided to adopt Strawberry and give her the love and care she deserves. Claire Kuhlman, Kristen’s twin daughter, couldn’t stop raving about how snuggly Strawberry is, even though she’s a big and powerful pup.

Despite being an adorable and devoted pet, the Kuhlmans found it difficult to understand why Strawberry was on the brink of being put down.

According to Jack Kuhlman, a family member of the newly adopted dog, there was a lot of speculation about how the bump on the dog’s head came to be. This could have potentially contributed to the extended adoption process for the family. Despite this, they decided to keep the dog’s original name, “Strawberry”, as they felt it suited her well. The family also found a collar with strawberries on it, which added to the overall adorable factor of the situation. Jeff Kuhlman, the dog’s granddad, even jokingly refers to her as “Strawbs” due to her long and cute name. Overall, everything seems to be going smoothly for the newly expanded family.

After a long day at school, the children were eager to spend time with both their playful puppy and the unicorn dog known as Strawberry. The unique feature of Strawberry’s head hump has brought attention from the neighborhood, and whenever someone sees her, they can’t resist greeting her. Kristen Kuhlman fondly remembers calling out to Strawberry and noticing the growing number of fans she has gathered in the area. It’s no wonder the kids love playing catch with Strawberry and snuggling up to their adorable new pet.
